The Province of Nova Scotia has declared that a record number of immigrants have been nominated in 2017 through its Provincial Nominee Program.More than 1,400 people were nominated by the Atlantic Canada province by way of Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), wherein applications are accepted under five streams for immigration.These five streams are as follows:Nova Scotia Experience: Express EntryNova Scotia Demand: Express EntryEntrepreneurSkilled WorkerInternational Graduate EntrepreneurOne of the most active category of NSNP was Category B of the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream, for which applications were accepted for three times in the year 2017. The intake limit for them was reached within no time on every reopening.A job offer is not required for this popular immigration category which select applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. However, applicants need to have paid work experience of at least one year in one of the opportunity occupations of Nova Scotia. The profile of the applicant should be registered with the federal Express Entry system.According to Nova Scotia, 200 more immigrants came to the province in 2017 along with their families by way of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP).AIPP is an innovative, region-based immigration partnership which has been established between the governments of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and the federal government.More than 4,000 newcomers were welcomed by Nova Scotia in the year 2017, in total.
