We are happy to announce Daniel Galas as the WoolooPick! Daniel got the majority of the public votes from WOOLOO.ORG members and visitors. In his artistic practice, Daniel is mainly a painter, even though he also does work in other kinds of media. Among them a USP truck in paper-mache. He lives and works in Nyack, USA.Wooloo spoke to Daniel about his work:- How would you describe your artistic process? Its like the Zen saying... "When sitting, just sit. When walking, just walk. Above all, don't wobble." Whether the drawing is "good" or "bad" it doesn't matter... but to second guess my intuition is to fail.- Can you give us an example of a work of yours that you are especially happy with?I'm most happy with my work when it reveals to me something unusual about myself and what I'm drawing. I hone in on something peculiar about a person, place, or thing and eliminate all other unessential information.- What inspires you to create your work? The infinite creative possibilities in visual art and the curiosity of being alive in the world.- Has the Internet an effect on your practice as an artist? And if yes, in what way?Yes. Because I am on the Internet so often, sitting in front of a computer screen, it has conversely given me the need to be more engaged with my immediate surroundings.- How long have you been using WOOLOO.ORG and why do you find it useful?I've been a member for one year. I absolutely love that it is international, free, and requires no submission to become a member!
