Employment grew by a measly 9,800 jobs in the month of October although it was a turnaround from the declines in both August and September. After a drop of almost 30,000 jobs in September then perhaps the October result is not all that bad after all. Year on year the gain in jobs has declined to an average of around 4,000 for 2016 compared to 25,000 for 2015.
