Wizcorp Blog Wizard Academy Summer 2018 at Wizcorp

Every year Wizcorp holds an internship program called Wizard Academy, for young programmers who want to learn game development and practice new skills. The format is similar to an intensive training camp, where participants attend several lectures and practice by making an HTML5 sample game.This year Wizard Academy Summer 2018 was from August 20th to 31st, and we welcomed six motivated interns at our headquarters. The theme was to make a shooting game and we highly emphasized the creative part of the project.We prepared a curriculum for a period of 2 weeks: 2 days of lectures on game development & game design concept, and on the different tools participants will use to make the game, followed by 8 days of actual game development.The tools are Visual Studio Code, Git, Javascript & TypeScript, Phaser.Our six participants were put into two groups and worked as a team to help and learn not only from our IT professional staff but also from each other.
