Whitten Brothers Blog 16 of the Muddiest Jeeps in America

Some cars are great for daily driving, for moving you safely and smoothly across town without worry. That, however, is not what these Jeeps are for. These 16 Jeeps were made to blaze trails, to go where others cant, and, of course, to sling mud along their path to conquest. Whether you're an off-roading fanatic or you've only ever spun your wheels on rainy paved streets, you have to appreciate the utility and mud-defying power these custom Jeeps bring to the table. Let's take a look at some of the roughest, toughest, muddiest Jeeps that America has to offer.1. What happens when you outfit a classic '46 Willy's aluminum shell with 44" American Farmers tires and 650 horses under the hood? You get the pure awesomeness that is "Nasty" Nate Scott's "Big Jack" project rig. Here it is tearing up the Freestyle portion of the June 2014 Throttle King Series. 2. We're not convinced, but reddit user fsacb3 assured us that a '95 YJ is buried somewhere under that cake. Better to give this bad boy a thorough spray before you're stuck with a permanent mud-orange Wrangler. 3. Speaking of caked on, check out the build up on this CJ's 36s. We hope this rig's driver took care of those wheels before succumbing to the dreaded death wobble.4.A little dirt wont hurt this rugged modified Cherokee Sport, especially when it's been outfitted with 35" Pro Comp mudders. We bet reddit user pop_tart's rig looked a little odd cruising Beverly Hills, but it looks like this Jeep was right at home in the John Bull trails around Big Bear Lake in California.5. Sometimes you swamp the mud, and sometimes the mud swamps you. Reddit user pkharm staged a daring Jeep on Jeep rescue mission to unearth a struggling Cherokee mid-adventure. This 4x4 knight didn't exactly come out with shining armor, though. 6. Reddit user bikes_and_jeeps wins points for style and fling distance in this awesome scene of mud vs. machine. 7. Speaking of mud-slinging, we bet this Jeep owner was happy they remembered to roll up the windows when they took on the mud pit at Twitty's Mud Bog in South Carolina. 8. Allow us to take some liberties with the word "mud" here when we commend this rock-hugging '97 TJ. FourWheeler took a bare-bones Wrangler from meager to Moab-ready with an upgraded roll-cage, steel bumpers, 73-inch Pitbull Rockers, and a host of other improvements.9. Here's the sign of a great set of wheels: spotless tires and mud-caked body. Does anyone have a guess at which member of the Wrangler family might be hiding under there?10. After a long day on the track, reddit user db295 needed to give his TJ a much-deserved bath. With trimmed fenders and a windbreaker top, it's no wonder that this TJ took on a full coat.11. If ever you weren't convinced of a Wrangler's rugged utility, pictures like this are sure to persuade. Few other vehicles can bury themselves this deep in a quagmire and still come out on top.12.On the trails at Chandler Park near Tulsa, OK, there's more than enough mud to go around. Reddit user amishconspiracy brought two friends along to test their mettle against the Oklahoma mud and came our grungy but victorious. 13. How's this for something different? In a repeat visit to this year's Ultimate Adventure, a heavily modified Project KJ Jeep Liberty CRD trampled this woody leg of its thousand-mile journey without breaking a sweat.14. So trimmed fenders aren't your thing? Maybe reddit user logancaldwell's 7-inch fender flares get your motor running. Whether or not they suit your style, they certainly didn't save this driver any car wash money.15. Let's not leave all the fun to the SUVs. This Comanche may be rocking some formidable mudders, but the brutal mud pit at Twitty's Mud Bog had the Jeep pickup spinning its wheels.16. And the winner for muddiest Jeep goes to this muck-blanketed YJ. Tossing more swamp than it trekked earned the muddy Jeep top honors at the 2007 Pig Gig trail crawl.Alright, mud masters, it's time to share your dirtiest, filthiest, and muddiest Jeeps. Next time you're taking down a trail, swamp, or bog, be sure to snap a picture and send it over!
