Walmart and Sysco were singled out in the Wall Street Journal as pushing vendor fines for missing "on-time, in-full" (OTIF) targets. Suppliers are finding it really hard: tight labor, supply constraints, and carrier shortages. While we can help with our AutoScheduler and LevelLoad products, is it time to drive 2-tier pricing? Flexibility = Lower Price. Now warehouses are the villains in the Inland Empire in the Los Angeles area: The LA air pollution board wants to penalize warehouses. Where there are warehouses, there are trucks and Diesel generates 15% of the Nitrogen Dioxide that is claimed to kill people - albeit there is limited evidence of a direct causal link. Seems to me to be a case of shooting the messenger.
