Walkinwonder Blog Sorting the Seed from the Dirt

Morena Butte Trail"The way to maintain one's connection to the wild is to ask yourself what it is that you want. This is the sorting of the seed from the dirt. One of the most important discriminations we can make in this matter is the difference between things that beckon to us and things that call from our souls." ~Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman ArchetypeI spent a lof of last week in Los Angeles commuting from San Diego and while I do enjoy the energy of the city (in small doses), it can get to me after some time. When I returned back to San Diego, I was ready to let myself wander in the wild. In my profession, I am around people a lot and I love connecting with others, but the balance for stillness and silence is equally important. I find that whenever I feel overwhelmed or disconnected to myself or source, being out in the wilderness always brings me back to center. I grew up in the wild during my earlier years as a child but resisted it in my later teens and through college. It's funny how we always return "home" at some point. In my opinion, this connection to the wild has been lost in our culture today and it is essential to our existence. If you live in San Diego and you're are looking for a way to reconnect and heal by experiencing the sweet stillness and freedom of a desolate landscape, find my dear friend Jen, at www.walkwildly.com. Jen boldly leads you not only into the wild wilderness but also into the potential of your wild heart. I feel honored to be able collaborate with Jen and experience her in her element as she guides others back to theirs. walk in wonder,Alyx Yoga in the Wild
