Virtustream Blog Keep Current on Virtustream at Dell Technologies World 2019!

The doors of Dell Technologies World have swung open for this year’s annual gathering and the place is packed. It’s great to be here, and if you’re here as well, come see us in booth #1213. You may have seen news from Microsoft today announcing its new Azure VMware Solutions. Here is what the press release had to say about Virtustream, “Azure VMware Solutions are first-party services from Microsoft developed in collaboration with VMware Cloud Verified partners CloudSimple and Virtustream (a Dell Technologies company).” We’re excited about the new Azure VMware Solutions and you’ll see more from us about this in the future. For now, you can see their press release here, and if you’re at Dell Technologies World, swing by our booth to learn more. We’ve also announced new research from Forrester Research. You can see our press release on the study here. The findings of the new 2019 study reveal that 97 percent of respondents are employing multicloud strategies for mission-critical applications and nearly two-thirds are using multiple vendors for mission-critical workloads. Based on a global survey of more than 700 cloud technology decision makers at businesses with 500 or more employees, the study examines the current state of enterprise IT strategies for cloud-based workloads and details the increasing interest and needs of IT decision makers for multi-use cloud architecture. The study found that multicloud investments are on the rise, with almost 90 percent of organizations predicting they’ll maintain or increase their investment and staffing for multicloud deployments over the next two years. Also, multicloud adoption is on the rise, as nearly 75 percent of organizations say they are using two to three cloud providers today for mission-critical applications, with the top-ranked use cases centering on customer and financial data, in addition to sales applications. Virtustream had more to share on the first day of Dell Technologies World. It announced a major expansion of its partnership with Equinix Cloud Exchange (ECX), and new platform updates to increase functionality, automation, speed-to-deployment and customer choice. These enhancements cover all workloads, including mission-critical applications typically used for managing sensitive data like customer and financial details or patient information in the healthcare industry.
