Vessel: Verizon in talks to acquire a mobile video startup founded by former Hulu CEO

Verizon is in advanced talks to acquire Vessel, a mobile video startup founded by former Hulu CEO Jason Kilar. In what looks like a pivot, Vessel is working on a "Snapchat-like" product with image filters and other features, according to Recode, citing sources close to the talks. The company has also been terminating content deals and developing a group-video service called "Hubcap," per a VideoInk report last month.
