Unity Of Columbus Blog Living At Possibility Junction

As we embrace a New Year, we see vast possibilities before us. We have the past, with its numerous lessons; we have the future before us, ripe with infinite roads we may take. The choice is ours. I invite you to reflect upon the past and be thankful, for the past provides us with a foundation and a framework from which to grow. The future is replete with possibility - and mystery. Our Ministry Theme for 2020 is: "Perfect Vision: Seeing Through A Spiritual Lens." In January, we explore that idea of Mystery as our sub-theme for the month. With any mystery, there is the "Great Unknown," and if we allow ourselves, the mind can be overcome with fear, anxiety, stress. In Unity, we invite you to be present to these feelings, while embracing the power of the ever-present Now. Now is the time. And in this Now Moment, we have the power to let go of fear, to be "comfortable in the question," and to trust, with a steady faith, that "Even in this, God Is." Remember our state motto: "With God, all things are possible." My invitation to you this week, dear readers, is to dwell in this space, which Mary-Alice and Richard Jafolla, co-authors of The Quest, refer to as "Possibility Junction." They write: "[W]hen you are at Possibility Junction, everything is possible. All you really have to remember is that God is with you, because God lives at Possibility Junction. The God which dwells within you and has given you a new vision of yourself will keep you on course. The God which has allowed the vision will, with your cooperation, fulfill that vision." God truly Is the Source of all life, love, creative inspiration, and all things. We begin a year-long study of The Quest for our MidWeek Renewal program starting tonight. I will be facilitating, with support from fellow facilitators Rev. Jan Seward, Rev. Sandra Weisner, and Shirley Williams, Licensed Unity Teacher, who will offer lessons later in the year. In every human heart there exists the hope of connecting with "something more." Tucked away deep within us, a part of us has always sought-yearned for-that connection. The Quest opens the way for that connection. It presents eternal truths in a contemporary and very personal way. Whether you are just beginning your own individual quest or desire a deeper spiritual understanding, this class, supported by the guidebook and the accompanying activity book, Adventures on the Quest, will lead you with warmth and practicality through the pilgrimage of your soul. Join us tonight at the MidWeek Renewal! We begin with meditation at 6:30 p.m. This Sunday, we continue on our adventure with Rev. Sandra Weisner, who will explore how we can begin to see Life and its challenges, its mountains, its dragons to be slain, its meandering pathways, through a spiritual lens. Our Youth and Family Ministry will also be exploring The Quest, through exciting, youth-centered curricula prepared by the Jafollas ("Children On the Quest" and "Teens On the Quest"), and we will be launching the program this week! We look forward to seeing you at 11:00 a.m. Sunday! In Oneness, Daryn L. Wells
