U Save Lighting Blog Picking the right colour for your lights

We never used to be able to pick the colour of the light. We either had sunlight or incandescents. You can assign a exact measure of the colour of light based on wavelength. Incandescent lights normally output 2700k light - a yellowish light that is quite comfortable. Sunlight is 6000k and is really intense indoors. LED's are able to produce a wide range of light colours that were previously unavialable. When introduced, LED's and Compact Flourescents were commonly 3000. That light can be pretty intense and uncomfortable. With advances in technology, you can now get 2700 LED's that produce the same as incandescents.ColourDescriptionApplication2700Warm whiteIndoor lights3000Cool whiteSecurity lighting, some indoor applications required brighter lights4000Cold whiteCommon areas in office and commercial buildings5000Very whiteSpecialized applications such as photography and painting6000SunlightSpecialized applications such as photography and paintingDo you have a specific application that you are unsure about?
