December 2021 In just over 1 year, for the first time Qatar will host the FIFA Men’s World Cup, the international football championship that takes place every four years. Qatar will be the smallest country (by population) in history as well as the first country in the Middle East to host the tournament. These matches will be played in eight stadiums with around 1.5 million fans expected to attend the event.
