Tuerco Blog Upgrading to Yosemite & Apache+PHP: Cool story brew!

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) a few weeks back. And it all seemed pretty good... until I tried to look at some PHP I had in my ~/Sites folder.I started apache through the console (remember it's gone from the 'sharing' menu since 10.8)sudo apachectl startNo errors but would get a webpage not available error when trying to reach localhost.I triedsudo apachectl -tand finally got some useful information that led me to the problem: my homebrewed PHP got broken when I upgraded to Yosemite. So...First step: upgrade homebrew. When I did brew update I kept getting errors. Turns out there is a bug with Yosemite. Here's the thread and how to fix it:Quick-version: sudo xcode-select --install (make sure to have upgraded XCode)Afther this just follow the rest of the steps listed here:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26444444/localhost-doesnt-work-on-yosemiteStep two: Re-configure apacheNow, if you have the exact same problems as I did, localhost is responding but localhost/~username is not.To fix this you have to uncomment some lines as shown here:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24583859/apache-localhost-username-not-workingStep three: Re-configure permissionsWhen I finally could get an answer from localhost/~username I kept getting 403 (Forbidden) errors. This has to do with the syntax of the user.conf file in the latest apache version. Here's how to fix it:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25250566/apache-localhost-403-error-with-yosemiteFinally, that was it. Everything went back to the way it was before the Yosemite upgrade.Hope this helps, if you have questions contact us @tuercoinc or me directly at @jluna79.
