During the 2016-2017 school year, third grade students are reading Brian Selznick's The Invention of Hugo Cabret. This is an excellent story, and lots of fun to read because it is a graphic novel. While reading the story, students will also spend time developing comprehension skills, including questioning, understanding figurative language, and how characters develop.
