Tickbox Blog Talking Crowdcube

Public speaking isn’t my forte. Last week I made a visit to London to speak at a crowdcube investors’ event. It was a bit of a first for me, engaging with so many investors, but I have to say it was a brilliant event and the responses we had were all very positive. Crowdcube had organised a great event with a wide range of businesses to speak about their various investment opportunities. From top quality meat to hifi systems, to cocktails to us, TickBox. There was real variety on show but one thing I did recognise is that TickBox has a truly unique offering. We are not only novel, we are quite literally breaking out a whole new market. After my 1 minute pitch (which I now know is very little time at all) there was loud applause from the room and a couple of investors came over to speak to me straight after. TickBox not only presented a very lucrative offering but a concept that really sparked the delegates interest. First we talked local elections, the general election and quickly found myself talking to people about their global vision for TickBox. I was pleasantly surprised by how once people understood the concept they were quickly mapping out where they could see how we might help and make a difference to democracy in a multitude of ways. I certainly wasn’t expecting to come away from the event with new ideas for future development. It was, needless to say, a great success for us. Now it is time for me to carry some of those ideas on, weave them into the TickBox future story and return to my digital workshop to start hammering them out. It seems, as Technical Director, I’ll never find the time to sit down and relax with so many exciting opportunities to explore and systems to build!   Until next time, Kent
