TechBikers Copenhagen to Berlin 2017: 
Day 1
We’ve made it through Day 1! At the end of the first day’s cycling, we can’t wait to have a long shower and get some sleep…A fair few TechBikers taking part in this cycling challenge from Copenhagen to Berlin travelled overnight or caught early morning flights to make it to Copenhagen in time for our 9am start so we’re all in need of a decent rest before tomorrow. Thanks to everyone at Founders House for giving us such a positive start to our cycling challenge.

 The Danish countryside we’ve been cycling through today has been exceptionally stunning which has helped to take our minds off the ever present grey clouds looming on the horizon. Even battling a fairly ferocious headwind hasn’t been able to wipe the big smiles off our faces – it feels awesome to all be together in Denmark, cycling to Germany for Room to Read (with the occasional pitstop for roadside repairs).
So, what have we been doing besides recording highlights of the ride with Spectacles, Mapillary, body cams, smartphones and a drone? A lot of cycling. Many of the countryside roads have been pretty much deserted - tranquil stretches of water on one side and fields as far as the eye can see on the other - so we’ve been able to hit our stride and stick to a steady pace until our aching muscles and calorie cravings kick in. Luckily, today, it was just as we reached our planned lunch spot. There was just time for some dedicated carb loading and stretching and then we were off again for the second half of today’s cycling.Thank you for all your support. The messages you’ve been sharing personally and on social media have really kept us going today. Please keep them coming. They make a huge difference especially when we start flagging, have to battle the wind and rain or hit a steeper climb.
