Some people think Taps From Scratch just rents beer and kegs for events, weddings, and parties in Orlando. While we do supply a great service by delivering kegs full of great craft beers, homebrewed perfection, and other types of beer to customers in Orlando we also have a few other side projects.The one we are the most focused on right now is Winter Park Beer Co. We can't say too much about it right now but we can say it will be a place like no other and if you like unfiltered homebrew you won't be able to stay away. We will post more info on here and Facebook as we get closer to unveiling Winter Park Beer Co.As you know we have been brewing quality unfiltered homebrew every weekend in my backyard in Orlando since the beginning of the year. Taps From Scratch has learned a lot about brewing quality beer during that time. The learning curve has been steep but as you have seen our beers have consistently beat some of the best and highest rated beers in the country in head to head taste tests. Part of the reason is because we do our homework. We read all of the best books, we watch as much video from other brewers as possible, and we listen. When some of the top homebrewers come to my backyard I make sure to ask questions and listen to their answers. Another reason Taps From Scratch beer is so good is because of the ingredients. Every week I drive up to Sanford and buy my grains and hops from the Sanford Homebrew Shop in Magnolia Square Market. Getting good ingredients is very important and I know when I buy my grains and hops that I am set. The best thing to do, if you aren't growing your own hops, is to stock up and buy your hops by the pound. I keep mine in my freezer to keep them fresh. It will save you a lot of money when you brew your beers.
