Here is an inspiring video we filmed for the Design Museum in London, in collaboration with ESA (European Space Agency), for an amazing exhibition about MARS, held at the Design Museum. We had great fun interviewing and filming the amazing Tim Peake at the Astronaut Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Cologne, Germany. Tim's interview was really inspiring and fascinating and we learned so much about what life could be like on Mars and how amazing humans are at pushing the limits of knowledge and exploration. This is just a short video taken from a much longer interview we filmed, and we were all literally amazed at this national Hero of ours! The European Space Agency was incredibly kind to let us film on some of their satellites at their museum, and they shared really great archive material about Tim's time in space, including his legendary space walk... that we were able to edit into the final video we produced. For the filming we used an ARRI Alexa Mini with Zeiss Super Speeds (also connected to space exploration, as Zeiss was commissioned to create lenses for NASA in the past - see Stanley Kubrick's f0.75 Zeiss SS lens used on Barry Lyndon for example, that was originally built for space photography for NASA).We also used a Canon c300mkii as backup camera for some additional shots here and there, and the material intercut really well, using a similar LUT as the ARRI one. We were really surprised to see how well the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 did well in small spaces. Simply amazing. It was such a treat for the crew to be able to say they set foot on a satellite (or spaceship...) which at one point was actually out there in outer space. For the audio we were using a combination of high quality radio microphones and shot gun microphones (as back up). You never want to run the risk of missing some audio due to technical faults with anything or radio interference... so we're great fans of always having a backup solution for our clients. Be it an extra camera or microphone...The editing was done on both Adobe Premiere and After Effects for some sections, including grading on Da Vinci. We're very happy about the result and finally opted for a natural and organic 'look and feel', although our editors did try out some pretty funky effects for some of the scenes... we kept it simple in the end ('less is more' approach). From this video we also made social media versions to be placed on Instagram and other social platforms (including vertical videos, 9x16, square, and shoter 16x9 versions for Facebook and Twitter). We hope you enjoy it as much as we did, and we take this opportunity to thank both the incredible Design Museum and their team, and ESA, for giving us this unique opportunity. Please find more information about Tailored Media and our video production company here:Tailored Media (Video Production Company in London working internationally)tailoredmedia.co.uk/hello@tailoredmedia.co.ukoffice: +44 (0) 20 8301 8420We specialise in branded content, corporate videos, art and heritage, tech and digitial, fashion and travel... although in truth we are pretty 360, and like to engage ourselves in anything and everything that is inspiring and interesting.
