Stylestingy Blog HOW TO DEVELOP YOUR SIGNATURE STYLE (Part 1)

Solange Knowles, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Alba, Taylor Swift. What do these ladies have in common? They all have their own signature style. A signature style can be anything from understated and chic, to bold and bright, to godly and overbearing. A signature style is what you make it not what trends are going on at the moment. So what exactly is a signature style? It's that thing that describes you. It's that thing that when you walk into a room people know you arrived. It's that thing that sets you apart from the crowd. It's the thing that gives you power and confidence even when you're not in the mood that day. Take Solange for instance. She has a few signature style moves. One is her hair. She normally rocks a big fro whether it's a kinky fro or a fro that has more of a curl definition. Her second signature is showing her legs. She's normally in mini skirts, shorts, or dresses showing off her gorgeous gems. Her third signature is her prints and color choices. She is great at putting together prints and colors that the majority of us would shy away from. This electric mix has a 1970's vibe that's fresh and modern. How can you achieve your personal signature style without trying to be something your not? First what is the one thing that you always go back to time and time again? It can be your favorite red lipstick. Maybe you love your skinny jeans. It might be your massive heel collection. Whatever it is this is the start. Next is to assess your closet. What items do you gravitate more and wear consistently? Is it long maxi dresses? Or maybe crisp white shirts? Once you have your item(s) you can now see the items you don't really love or want in your closet any longer. Remember don't hold on items because they cost you a pretty penny or they are too small and you hope one day to wear them again. Sell these items to get cash for your new invested signature pieces. Stay tuned for part two.
