There is a myth going around that studying for math is not possible or needed... newsflash folks this is NOT true. Math is a subject that cannot be learned in the same way as english or social studies. Here are a few simple steps to prepare and ace your next math exam. Get'er Done: Math needs to be practised. After a lecture or class practise the material you have learned. This is a subject that is not about memorization, instead it is all about application. Ask yourself "How"?: A crucial part about studying for math is learning not just just memorize formulas but be confident in understanding how they work and applied in specific situations/problems. Ask Questions: This is a subject that can be really frustrating when you get stuck on a concept. Sometimes it can be difficult to grasp an idea and rereading the example problems repeatedly is not going to help. To simply solve this problem ask questions. Make note of the topics you're having difficulty with and give yourself enough time before the exam to ask questions on how to solve these problems. Study With Others: Having a study group for math can be extremely helpful. Hearing others perspectives can be a fantastic tool to learn a new concept. Additionally, other members in the group may have difficulty with a topic that you understand, therefore you can use your knowledge to teach them. Teaching someone else a concept is a very powerful way of testing your own knowledge.
