Test anxiety is a terrible feeling. Especially when you have prepared for your test and then due to anxiety you blank on the exam and do worse than you should have. Here are 5 tips to reduce your test anxiety or over time make it disappear altogether. 1. Prepare: If you have a test coming up, give yourself the proper amount of time to prepare so that you are not cramming and can learn the information needed. 2. Get A Good Night's Sleep: Staying up all night before your exam does no good for yourself or your grades. The night before your exam give yourself time to destress before bed and go to sleep at a reasonable hour. 3. Wake Up A Few Minutes Earlier And Read Your Notes: The morning is one of the best times for memorization. Set your alarm for a few minutes earlier in the morning the day of the exam. Taking a couple minutes before you begin your day to read your notes is a fantastic way to reassure yourself that you are prepared and know your stuff. This is also a great opportunity to lock in a few of those last minute concepts that you keep forgetting. 4. Take A Break: Prior to taking your exam, or even during your exam if you find yourself getting anxious take a break. If your test is on a time constraint taking only 30 seconds to have a sip of water, or take a couple deep breaths can make a huge difference. 5. Perspective: Think about the phrase "Do Your Best And Forget The Rest", it couldn't be more relevant. This test does not define your life or your future. You took the time to study, try your hardest and don't worry about the rest.If the grade is not what you wanted, take time to reflect and take it as an opportunity to learn what to do different in the future.
