Stephographie Blog The most frequently asked question I get on the day of a wedding

This day has been planned for, prepped for, stressed over, and thought of since you were a wee one. By the day of your wedding you are set and your groom has been given his tasks and everyone is on the same page. However, have we forgotten something. A small little 'insignificant' detail? A detail so tiny that it is completely easy to overlook and in the heat of the moment people are scrambling to assist but by that time it is too late and believe it or not this insignificant detail can rear its ugly head in a real way.The number one questions I get asked on the day of the wedding...."How the hell do I put this on?!" Yes, the dreaded boutonniere. I know we are all laughing and yes, there is a sure element of humor here. I mean all this fret from a nervous groom over a dinky little flower. Of course there is more than one way to skin a cat so 9 times out of 10 the flower finds it's way on the jacket and we call it good enough and the day goes on. However, in my experience there are a few consequences to improper pinning. 1) In photos everyone's boutonniere is in a different place on the jacket and mostly crooked if done with nervous hands. 2) In the haste to get the flower on the jacket they wilt (with hot weather or hot hands)or worst case scenario the head of the flower breaks off from rough handling. 3) The poor guy is getting stabbed by a pin all night or a guest is getting poked after a hug. There has also been times that the flower have completely fallen off during the receiving line and have been trampled from improper pinning. Luckily this is 10000000% (totally a real percentage) preventable. Before the wedding (and I mean a day or two so they don't forget`) have your groom watch this video so we can be sure that those sweet little flowers don't become a bothersome thorn on you big day! Watch one way (of many) to properly wear and pin a boutonniere HERE.
