BigAir Group (ASX: BGL) is acquiring telecommunications and wireless engineering services company Star-Tech Communications to boost its high speed fixed wireless infrastructure construction and maintenance capability. The company will acquire Star-Tech for $1.2 million worth of shares (1,263,158 shares).The acquisition will also add to its community broadband wifi and enterprise ‘WiFi-as-a-Service’ capabilities.BigAir had previously acquired Star-Tech’s managed ISP division in 2010, which marked its successful entrance into the tertiary student accommodation market.Star-Tech generated revenues of $2.1 million and EBITDA of $39,000 in the 2013 financial year.Revenue is expected to be in the range of $2-2.3 million in the 2014 financial year.Following a period of integration, Star-Tech is expected to contribute more than $450,000 in annualised EBITDA to the BigAir Group once cost synergies are realised.
