Star-Tech Communications: BigAir Group acquiring telecommunications and wireless services company

BigAir Group (ASX: BGL) is acquiring telecommunications and wireless engineering services company Star-Tech Communications to boost its high speed fixed wireless infrastructure construction and maintenance capability.   The company will acquire Star-Tech for $1.2 million worth of shares (1,263,158 shares).The acquisition will also add to its community broadband wifi and enterprise ‘WiFi-as-a-Service’ capabilities.BigAir had previously acquired Star-Tech’s managed ISP division in 2010, which marked its successful entrance into the tertiary student accommodation market.Star-Tech generated revenues of $2.1 million and EBITDA of $39,000 in the 2013 financial year.Revenue is expected to be in the range of $2-2.3 million in the 2014 financial year.Following a period of integration, Star-Tech is expected to contribute more than $450,000 in annualised EBITDA to the BigAir Group once cost synergies are realised. Proactive Investors Australia is the market leader in producing news, articles and research reports on ASX “Small and Mid-cap” stocks with distribution in Australia, UK, North America and Hong Kong / China.
