THE AVILA LECTURE SERIES The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Origins of Christianity Thursday, May 21 at 7:00pm in Memorial Hall Rev. Christopher M. Ciccarino, S.S.L., S.T.D., Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, Seton Hall University Few archaeological finds in the past hundred years have contributed more to our understanding of Judaism and Christianity in the first century - or captured that popular imagination - than the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. In this lecture, we explore the discovery the Scrolls, their decipherment, the many controversies which have surrounded them, and the true significance of these texts for history and our faith. Rev. Christopher M. Ciccarino is the Associate Dean for Seminary and Academic Studies and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology
