Spotjobs Blog When You Feel Like You Don’t Have Enough Time In The Day

Or you do and just unsure how to manage it effectively.Everybody goes through bouts of being unmotivated. What is likely to trigger extensive periods of lack of motivation is not pulling yourself back into a routine. There are many factors that can affect your motivation, but if you need some basic guidance in terms of time management or help with completing undesirable tasks, we have a few methods for you to try. This blog entry is about being productive outside of work hours - when you’ve been productive all day (and you really can’t be bothered). Eating the Frog!We recommend reading the book if you haven’t – but it’s pretty much about how much better off you are when you complete the most tedious task first. Tedious tasks aren’t the problem, the problem is how long you hold them off for. If you follow this method, we guarantee that you won’t have time to stew or obsess over it – because you will have already got it over and done with.MotivationDid you know that you have as many hours in the day as Beyonce?Let’s be a little more realistic, though. Everyone’s circumstances are different, commute times to work and University, having a family, hours of work or study, errands to run etc. Do you struggle with finding time to cook dinner? Make your lunches? Fit in exercise? Tidy up the house?Let’s rewind a little bit. Instead of doing one huge bout of your task once a week, determine the time of day you feel you are most productive. Do you get heaps of stuff done before you head off to work or right before bed? Work with it! Don’t wait until it’s unmanageable, break it up.Action PlanPreparation is key! Do you want to exercise? Try keeping your exercise gear with you so you can’t make excuses for yourself. Can’t be bothered making dinner? Lucky you chopped up all the ingredients this morning or last night.Running late and can’t make your lunch in time? Good thing you prepared your lunches for the week on Sunday and all you need to do is take it out of the freezer! Is your house resembling a tip? That’s OK! You woke up 10 mins early to put a little bit of order in your home before you leave for the day. (Good one!)The point of the action plan is that we all have these amazing ambitions to do things when we get home from work or Uni, but as soon as we get home we just want to relax… As we should! It’s about accepting that you’re not always going to be 100% productive, but like they say, an organised wardrobe is an organised mind. You’ll thank us later!Treat YoselfCongratulations, making your lunches on a Sunday for the week ahead has saved you around $50 a week! You’ve been doing this for 4 weeks and you’ve saved yourself $200. Reward yourself! If you work towards an incentive it will feel less like a chore. Once you reach one goal, set another! If you’re still struggling with creating habitual routines, ask a housemate or partner if they want to join in and kick some goals with you!
