We live in small town America. But recently, even here, it seems violent crime has begun to increase substantially. A working leaving our area mall at night with the day's deposit was approached by 3 men with an "A-K Like" gun and demanded the money. Yesterday's local news included a report of a man being beaten by an unknown assailant. Things like that just don't happen here. Well, they didn't used to, anyway. I guess as the economy gets worse and worse, people are feeling the push to take things that don't belong to them. While we must strive to find the good things to celebrate, it seems that there are increasingly more things to protect against.
