Security PS Blog Security PS Brings On Seven New Cyber Apprenticeship Interns!

Security PS loves Kansas City. We have consultants that live all over the metro area. Many of our clients also call Kansas City their home. That’s why we are investing in students, schools, and young professionals right where we live by creating the Security PS Cyber Apprentice Program. We are particularly proud of this program because it breaks down barriers that would ordinarily make it difficult for passionate students and newcomers to the field to learn, gain experience, and begin their cyber security career. As a part of our Cyber Apprentice Program, we have partnered with several area schools and teachers to teach high school and college students about cyber security. We’ve provided hands-on labs about hacking web applications and talked about how to start a career in this high demand and exciting professional field. This year, we've engaged students and teachers from area schools including:Johnson County Community CollegeMetropolitan Community CollegeSummit Technology AcademyNorth Kansas City High SchoolBlue Springs High SchoolThe Barstow SchoolThe Islamic School of Greater Kansas City.Shawnee Mission Center for Academic AchievementShawnee Mission South High SchoolShawnee Mission Northwest High SchoolOlathe South High SchoolSpring Hill High SchoolTeachers at a variety of schools through KC Stem Alliance’s Computer Science Teacher Mentor DayOn Tuesday, April 28th 2020, seven new interns began the SPS Cyber Apprenticeship program and joined our team for the next three months.
