MOSCOW-Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) has completed the flight trials of wingtips for its Superjet 100 (SSJ100) regional aircraft.The Russian manufacturer reported it now expects to deliver the first modified jet to a domestic customer by year-end 2019.The saber-like horizontal wingtips, dubbed saberlets, were designed by SCAC in cooperation with Russia's TsAGI Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute with the goal of reducing the aircraft's fuel consumption by 3%, as well as to improve takeoff and landing performance.read more
