New Zealand-based SafeStack has revealed plans to expand into the US and new additions to its platform to help software teams roll out and mature their own application security programmes and ongoing training. SafeStack CEO Laura Bell Main said it currently supports a big community of software teams in New Zealand and Australia and will continue to grow this market, while preparing to launch in the US in New York this month. With five staff working remotely across New Zealand and Australia, Main said plans were in place to explore growing the team to support its worldwide customer base in the next couple of years."As the year progresses, we plan to set up a network of partners globally who combine our solutions with their consultancy services to bring a security focus to software worldwide," she said. With the new platform expansion, SafeStack delivers enhanced training, application security programme management and tailored resources that align with industry best practices such as OWASP SAMM and NIST SSDF. "Our mission is to help software teams embrace security as a natural part of their development process," Main said."This expansion marks a significant step forward in providing the education and resources modern teams need to build secure software without slowing down."The biggest barrier to starting and maturing an application security programme is knowing where to start and how to break it down into manageable tasks."Main said SafeStack breaks down complex standards like NIST SSDF and OWASP SAMM into bite-size tasks that can be shared across teams. "Supported by a self-assessment tool and a catalog of templates, policies, playbooks and how-to guides, it has never been easier to mature your team's secure development practices," she said. Key highlights of the SafeStack platform expansion include enhanced secure development training with interactive, practical modules designed to keep pace with fast-moving teams, the functionality to roll out NIST SSDF and OWASP SAMM application security programmes in minutes, progress tracking and team sharing capabilities. Also included are a growing catalogue of developer resources supported by a self-assessment tool and a catalogue of templates, policies, playbooks and how-to guides."We are driven by an insatiable excitement for the potential of software. We believe that software has the scope to improve many aspects of our lives but to do so, we must design and build it to be secure," Main added. "By empowering software teams to manage and mature their security, we hope to ensure innovative solutions grow and thrive."
