In 1830, Charlotte Bronte created six miniature books for her brother Branwell's toy soldiers. The Bronte Parsonage owns four of these, one has been lost and the sixth went up for auction in Paris in November. The Bronte Society ran a crowdfunding campaign to raise the money to bid for the book, as we produced a series of short films to help with the fundraising. We were privileged to get up close to the books, and see for ourselves just how exquisite they are. And the Parsonage raised enough money to win the auction and now own all of the existing collection.
