Though the Shadow, Sword & Spell Kickstarter has been taking up my time, that does not mean I have not been busy.Yesterday the print files for The Defeated Dead has been sent to Studio2, and the Kindle version of the books finished. Currently I am finishing up the iBooks version and then will finish up the ePub. Preorders will start in a few weeks and they do not happen until the eBooks are all done. While you wait on the release, I thought I would take a moment to share one of my favorite pieces of art in the book. Once again I worked with James Olley, and once again he delivered the goods. I am lucky to work with a group of artists that I do. All of them turn in stellar work, and they take my sketchy descriptions and turn in art that only existed in my imagination. Like? Here you go.James style in unique, and one of the things I love about it, is that he captures the tone of Colonial Gothic. When I deal with the historical I always use period pieces, but when I deal with the horror/supernatural I make sure that is feels like it.I'll keep you posted on the status of The Defeated Dead's release.
