ResearchWare Blog A Note about Apple 'M1' based computers

Apple Computer has introduced Macintosh computers with a new processor, Apple's own ARM-based M1 processor. This is change from years of using Intel processors.Apple has included a translation/compatibility layer that enables an M1 Mac to run applications built for an Intel-based Macs. This layer is called "Rosetta". HyperRESEARCH 4.5.0 and higher and HyperTRANSCRIBE 2.0.0 and higher currently utilize "Rosetta" to run on M1 hardware.If HyperRESEARCH or HyperTRANSCRIBE are the first made-for-Intel applications you try to launch on an Apple M1 computer, the Mac will ask you if you want to install 'Rosetta'. Please do install 'Rosetta' and then continue using our applications as you normally would.
