Important Message For My Secret Folder Owners Upgrading to iOS 11With the impending release of iOS 11 this coming Tuesday September 19th 2017, we thought it would be best to alert all users of both our My Secret Folder (MSF) pro app and the free My Secret Folder Classic (MSFC) app, about the future support of this award winning application. TLDR: My Secret Folder will not, and never will work on iOS 11 or higher. We urgently recommend that any users who are thinking of upgrading their current devices to iOS 11 to remove or transfer any content from this application, as both MSF and MSFC apps will not run on iOS 11. This also includes anyone thinking of buying a new iOS device, because the new device will come with iOS 11 pre-installed and the MSF app will not transfer over to your new device when installing any backups or apps back onto your new iPhone/iPad.Will there be any future support for My Secret Folder going forward?Since its launch in August 2011, just over 6 years ago, My Secret Folder has been a huge success. The app had won awards, it was featured in Apple's 'Rewind 2011′ and it earned many recommendations from websites, security blogs and from many reviewers on YouTube. The company's decision to switch focus towards developing gaming applications meant that support for MSF and MSFC stopped with immediate effect. Since iOS 10, Apple begun to display a launch notification to its users that the app needed to be updated. We saw this as a good indication for existing users that My Secret Folder wasn't going to be supported in future iOS updates and to swap to another application that did have 64-bit support, a feature MSF doesn't have.iOS 11 now enforces Apple's move to 64-bit, and as a result, My Secret Folder will no longer work on current and future iOS devices the have Apple's new iOS software installed. This is a frustrating and heartbreaking end for the My Secret Folder application, as the company no longer has the time and resources to develop an update for the application that will support Apple's new 64-bit only iOS 11.If we have content in MSF and you are about to upgrade to iOS 11, or perhaps you will purchase a new iPhone 8 or iPhone X over the coming months, we recommend that you find an alternative application and transfer your content out of either MSF or MSFC before you switch to a new device or upgrade to iOS 11.We are doing our best to communicate this urgency, however we know not everyone will get our warning of this impending change. So below you will find a few frequently asked questions that may help any situation you are in.What do I do if I have already upgraded to iOS 11?If you have already upgraded and have not backed up your content from within the MSF app, it may be too late. However, there is one solution worth trying, and that is to roll back to iOS 10.3.3. with MSF still installed on your device. Usually a roll back requires a format of your device, so make sure you have a backup of MSF and its content on your desktop via iTunes or backed up in iCloud. What if I want to upgrade to iOS 11 but I want to keep my content from MSF?Make sure you export all the content inside MSF back to your Camera Roll and then import them into a different 'secret folder' type application with iOS 11 64-bit support. We trust on MSF this will be a lengthy process, if you have a lot of content, but this is the only method available in the current version of MSF.For MSF Classic owners, this is much easier process, by tapping [Edit] within a folder, tap [Select All], then tap the [Share] button and select [Export to Camera Roll] to export your photos back into your Camera Roll. Dropbox and USB routes may also be an option to transfer your content out of the MSF Classic app.Once all your content is transferred out of the MSF app, you are free to upgrade to iOS 11, or swap to your new device, then transfer your content from your Camera Roll back into a supported iOS 11 app, such as My Secret Photos. What do I do if I can't remember my passcode to get back into My Secret FolderWe have never supported passcode recovery in My Secret Folder. This was key to maintaining tight security in the app. In MSF Classic, when setting up your first passcode you would have had the opportunity to have your passcode emailed to you. So please check your email inbox for any emails that mention your passcode under the email subject "My Folder Pincode".Without knowing your pincode, we apologise that we cannot help you gain access into the MSF app. Will you eventually release iOS 11 support in the future? We do not have the time or the resources to develop the app further, so unfortunitly we will not be releasing any new update to MSF or MSFC that will feature iOS 11 64-bit support. So we sincerly apologise for any inconvenience caused. There is a My Secret Folder app with iOS 11 64-bit support on the App Store, is this yours? We own the My Secret Folder trademarked. Therefore any application branded as My Secret Folder is not developed by us, and should you see such an application, we would appreciate that you contact us as soon as possible, with a link to the application to - support at redknightapps . com Is there any other ways to get content out of MSF without a pincode? There are iPhone file browser applications, such as iExplore, that may allow access to files within MSF. However with newer versions and the increase in security of iOS, we have found that iExplore finds less and less content with each update of the software and updates of iOS.-iOS 11 releases on Tuesday 19th September 2017 and it will require a manual update initially. If you aim to upgrade to iOS 11 or you plan on upgrading to a new device, we strongly urge you to make sure you transfer any content prior to switching, or face losing all your content within the app.We hope you've found your time with the My Secret Folder app a helpful way in keeping your private content secure and private.
