Here is how Recon MX Suspension is currently servicing the WP Suspension Up Side Down 4860 MXMA CC forks, typically found on the current(2014) KTM SX model dirt bikes. Since we have an up to date damper bleed pump by Ohlins Suspension, Recon MX can service the inner fork cartridge same as the factory assembly. By allowing our shock bleed pump to pull down a vacuum and then forcing fluid while holding a vacuum, this gives the fork cartridge a "no air" fill which greatly improves performance when compared to a manual fork cartridge bleed effort.This process eliminates air in the sealed fork cartridge and the possibility for fluid cavitation during fork action, cavitation can cause significant wear on fork internals. This is why we never recommend riding with dirt bike forks after fluid loss occurs. After assembly of the fork, desired oil levels can be set with standard measure and pour techniques. Now that your forks are properly serviced, testing times can be greatly reduced when making changes knowing the forks are operating consistently every time they are disassembled for valving adjustments.
