We recently completed our experiment at the EIAA Charter School where we compared student reading in two different positions of the reading material. The results are compelling, and not exactly what we expected. Position one was while the child was sitting up straight with the reading material flat on the desk. This is position "A". Then we moved the material through the "Reading Arc" (see previous posts on this) until they found a position where the words were more clear. We had them read a different story in this position so that they had two cold reads for comparison.
