Samsung has fired the latest shot in the cellular manufacturers' battle against the parallel market for cellular phones by employing regional locks to make the handsets unusable outside of the designated geographic areas. Additional information indicates that Samsung's' regional locks could have already been initiated in July on a few models, perhaps as a test case. Until more information is known, be on the lookout for any indication that a Samsung phone may be geographically locked.
