Purite: Purite reveal reverse osmosis machine for breweries

Water purification systems supplier Purite has revealed a range of advanced reverse osmosis machines that it claims offers a "competitive advantage" to the brewing sector.Purite's Elite Plus reverse osmosis units can "help to improve the quality and flavour of... beers whilst cutting costs and ensuring optimum machine uptime," according to the company. The machines work by passing a pressurised water feed through semi-permeable membranes, resulting in the removal of "up to 98% of inorganic ions and 99% of dissolved organic contaminants". They have an output capacity of up to 10,000 litres per hour.It also features an automatic in-built alarm system that monitors the quality of water following purification and aims to prevent adverse effects on the taste of the beer. It then sends a notification to the user in the event that the quality falls below pre-determined values.Purite said: "This effective water purification solution, which provides consistent and high purity water on demand, is especially useful for lagers and ales that consist of more delicate flavours, where purified water is even more important because it has far less impact on taste."Due to its high levels of efficiency, the Elite Plus enables breweries to reduce the number of consumable items normally used in the water purification process, resulting in lower operating costs and therefore a competitive advantage."
