As a child growing up in Nova Scotia, you knew that once the weather started getting colder, then Halloween must be around the corner. Costumes took on a different meaning when the temperature dipped down close to freezing. That fancy costume was more often than not covered up by a raincoat or winter jacket. That didn't mean that you didn't have fun, you just had to be dressed for the weather!
