Jose Cuervo PR wanted to take over "La Placita de Santurce" for one night but not just any night, November 2, Day of the Dead. With multiple venues participating of the event JCPR rented for 2 hrs the Placita Timesquare Billboard and gave us the task to promote the event in a different way.Solution:A custom built arcade machine that transformed the billboard into the biggest arcade display in PR.Day of the Dead is all about fun and celebration, pretty much Halloween meets Rio Carnival. With that in mind we knew right away a simple animation would not do it and God forbids a static image.Outcome:A highly engaging, highly explosive game was created, The Battle for Cuervoritas.Two players compete in this button smashing game for a free Margarita at a participating establishment moving traffic from the busiest place at La Placita.Players and spectators could see the game in realtime in the billboard.Each match lasted 15.2 seconds Aprox.Over 400 tickets claimed.We registered over 20,000 button smashes.Inhouse design and development of the game.Inhouse design and fabrication of the arcade machine.At the end of the match people had a smile on their faces and two margaritas to share!
