According to the computing kings and queens at Google, 96% of consumers have encountered a site that wasn’t optimized for mobile. What’s more, 61% of users said if they didn't find what they were looking for right away on a mobile site, they'd quickly move on to another site. It gets worse: Google will penalize you if your site isn’t optimized for mobile, ranking those pages lower in search results. You might be picking up that Google is obsessed with mobile, and will continue to be: as of July 2018, page speed on mobile will be a ranking factor, so if you forgot to optimize for mobile, Google doesn’t want to sit with you.
