Chip design software maker Synopsys Inc. plans to lay off 102 people in Silicon Valley. The Mountain View company plans to cut staff at its headquarters campus as well as in Sunnyvale, according to a letter sent Jan. 24 to state and local officials. Synopsys plans to begin the layoffs March 31.
