If you're wondering what to get your dad for Father's Day, we have a suggestion... It's often said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach (!) and with that in mind, we have designed a Father's Day menu that is sure to please. The Boot Inn specialises in quality pub grub and seasonally inspired menus. We like to use what is locally available where possible and to make the most of food that's in season. By choosing fish, vegetables and meat that's at its best at certain times of year, we know we can provide customers with food at its most delicious. Father's Day at The Boot Inn Using seasonal food also helps to minimise our carbon footprint because it means the food hasn't travelled the same distance to get to your plate. Our Father's Day menu includes starters ranging from a trio of melon, a warm salad of smoked chicken and asparagus or baby clam and prawn chowder. Bearing manly appetites in mind, our main courses concentrate on favourites such as the Sunday roast. We don't think there's a man alive who doesn't adore a roast dinner - meat, vegetables, generous helpings of gravy and Yorkshire puddings a-plenty. There are fish dishes too, all served with seasonal vegetables. We can also do some of our starters as main courses if there are vegetarians in your party. Puddings take the form of an iced Baileys parfait, a chocolate cheesecake, a rhubarb and apple tart and more. Of course, we've included a cheese board which includes regional specialities such as Ludlow Blue, Cornish Yarg and the Black bomber. The board can be accompanied by a glass of Port. Depending on how much you want to spoil Dad, we have another thought on what to get your dad for Father's Day. We've pulled together a selection of malt whiskies and liqueurs. The 10-year-old Talisker, which is made on the island of Skye, is intense and powerful with a peaty, smoky flavour. The 10-year-old Laphroaig is distilled in the same way today as it was when first invented more than 75 years ago. It has a bold, smoky taste, followed by a hint of seaweed and sweetness. Our liqueurs include Drambuie, Grand Marnier and Cointreau. Good service is important to us at The Boot Inn and we will do our best to ensure that your party has a wonderful time. With any luck, the weather will be good on the day and you will be able to sit outside, enjoying the sunshine and your family get-together. We can also cater for larger parties - so if your family is a huge one, or you want to combine Father's Day with an extended family celebration, we can help. The Boot Inn can cater for parties over 40. We've a tucked away eating area and we can use the village hall or an alternative local venue. Please phone us on 01568 780228 or email us to discuss. Here's to Dads! If you're stuck for what to get dad on Father's Day, give us a shout. PS if you would like to try something a little different, bring Dad along to our Greek Night on 23rd June ... here is the menu.
