ONEsite Blog Adding Basic Subpage Styling to Your Network / Part 1

I've said it before but the ONEsite platform is really great. It has it's own quirks like most platforms do - but it's so versatile and expandable that it's really awesome. So this blog is for people who want a quick copy and paste solution. Feel free to take the code and apply it to your own ONEsite network. Along the way i'll try and explain what each section does. The coolest thing about the platform is that it's all built off a CSS platform. Which means that nearly everything within the network has it's own 'hooks' to target and allow you to restyle. It'll be much too large to try to do everything at once. So i'll split this up into many blogs over time. And hopefully can add bits and pieces and answer questions whenever necessary. One important concept to remember is that our platform is expansive and every single clients uses the exact same codebase and software. The only difference is the skin. With that in mind - all pages load a default set of CSS. These are ONEsite controlled and cannot be changed except by us. They contain all the very basic/base styling for things like buttons, forms, modules, page columns, etc. We allow network owners to either add their own custom CSS override stylesheets OR if they don't want to actually use a file they can use our web-based form within the ONEsite Control Panel to add their own styling. Most clients tend to gravitate towards using the web-based form.If you have your page and want to restyle something you can view the source of the page or preferably you'll have the Firefox add-on Firebug installed. This will allow you to inspect the elements of the page and see the class and ID names even easier. You can use those to write your CSS.0 Comments - Leave a Comment
