Norbertine Community Blog BACK TO BASICS: GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Back to Basics: Getting to the Heart of the Spiritual Journeywith Fr. Michael Fish, OSB CamaldoleseSaturday, January 16, 2016, 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Pope Francis said recently, "We are not living in an era of change but in the change of an era."This new era is challenging us to find a new language for our relationship with the Divine, ourselves and our world. In our morning together we'll look at this challenge and begin reflecting on how to live the Gospel in our present situation. We will explore "Learning a new Language," and, in the words of Annie Dillard, "Stalking the Gaps" in our hearts and lives. Hopefully our time together will facilitate our quest for God and God's search for us. Rev. Michael Fish, OSB Cam, is a native of South Africa. After 26 years as a Redemptorist, Michael left the Redemptorists and South Africa and became a Camaldolese Benedictine at New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur, California. This was in response to a persistent desire for a more contemplative way of life. Michael has been given permission by his community to explore solitude and the way of the hermit in greater depth. He currently lives as a hermit, in solitude and prayer. Solitude is only part of his calling; he offers retreats, talks and spiritual direction to his brothers and sisters in religious and lay communities. No registration required. Free-will offerings are greatly appreciated! Santa Maria de la Vid Abbey/Norbertine Spirituality Center5825 Coors Blvd. SW, Abq., NM, 505-873-4399
