Noah Consulting: Infosys sails upstream in Noah's ark

Bangalore-based offshore IT services major Infosys is to acquire oil and gas industry consultancy Noah Consulting for $70m cash. Headquartered in Houston and with 122 staff, Noah Consulting provides information management consultancy to upstream oil and gas companies. No details were given for Noah's financial performance.This sounds like a sensible fill-in acquisition to boost Infosys' consulting capabilities in the energy industry, albeit not the happiest of sectors at the moment. Infosys currently derives about 5% of its $9b revenues from the Energy & Utilities sector.
