NMC in collaboration with Fenyce creative technologists, explore the artistic potential of robotics and choreography.Mechanical structures worn by the public guide them into executing precise choreography; placing the audience at the centre of the action and a new theatrical experience. In an exciting 3-way interaction between audience, performer + machine we create an environment that questions, reformulates and subverts the notion of power, empathy and control.Supported by the Jerwood Choreographic Research Project II, NMC are developing a new project exploring questions around technology, power and movement experience.Technology is rapidly changing the world; how we work, socialise and are entertained. How do we feel about becoming increasingly reliant upon machines when our routine interactions with them make power ever present but difficult to locate? What do we stand to gain from the enhancements they will bring and what risks does this interdependent relationship with technology pose to our future?Cast: New Movement Collective
