NEA: Valarian Secures $50 Mn In Series A Led By NEA For Sovereign Infrastructure Platform

Valarian, a developer of infrastructure for critical operations and artificial intelligence, has raised USD 50 million in a Series A funding round led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), taking its total funding to USD 70 million. The round also saw participation from Lightbank, XTX Markets, Sequel, LitVC and several individual investors. The investment marks NEA's first investment in a European defence company.Valarian is building systems that give organisations greater control over critical infrastructure, including how systems communicate, access data and execute tasks. The company said its platform enforces these controls at the system level from the outset. The company believes such control, historically associated with large defence organisations and highly regulated institutions, is becoming increasingly important as artificial intelligence and other sensitive technologies become more widely deployed. The latest funding will be used to develop two products: Valarian Enterprise, aimed at intelligence-focused organisations requiring stringent system controls, and Valarian Defence, designed for governments and defence organisations seeking control over their systems and data.
