Nebraska.code Blog Don't miss this year's attendee party!

On April 9, 2011, we ended our first Nebraska Code Camp at a small bar in the Haymarket called the "N" Zone. It was a fairly quaint gathering of people who wanted to share the experience they gained from their selection of our whopping 25 sessions (we'll have over 110 this year), and just spend some time hanging out with like-minded individuals enjoying free food and drinks.I think it's fair to say that our attendee party has grown each year, and has become one of one the very best networking and flat-out fun events of the Midwest tech community. This year is no different - in fact, I think we've truly out-done ourselves this year. Please join us for the Nebraska.Code() 2016 Attendee Party at the Rule G Night Club in Lincoln's Railyard entertainment district on Thursday Night (May 19th) from 6-9pm. Rule G is on the 3rd floor of the Railyard on the corner of R and Canopy Streets. In addition to having an awesome burger bar and lots of free beverages (distributed via our killer poker chip drink tokens), we're going to have some live entertainment for you this year. The Omaha cover band Jacked will be on hand to play a wide selection of our favorite songs spanning the 70s to something you may have heard on the radio a couple hours ago.But wait, there's more. Not only will they be performing live music, they will also be hosting live music karaoke! It's like normal karaoke, but instead of having some canned backing track on a stereo while you sing, you'll have a full, live band to back you up as you belt out your favorite tune. Epic. Those who sing will be treated like the rockstars they are, and will also be entered in to a special drawing - like you needed more of a reason to do it.After the party is over (officially), head on out to the rest of the Railyard and Haymarket with your co-workers, old and new geek friends, or your new adoring fans - it's a great place to hang out and have a great time.If you aren't taking part in the social aspects of the tech conferences you go to, you're missing out on some of the most valuable parts of the event. There's no blog post or training video that will make connections with other professionals for you, or give you an opportunity to hang out with your fellow geeks and just have a good time. Don't miss it!
