Before the new year, NavPort updated the user interface to include mapping within dashboards, allowing users to highlight a region on a map that interacts directly with the other visuals on the dashboard. For those that have a subscription, four new canned dashboards are available in the folder "2.0 Map Widget Dashboards" within NavPort Analytics . Today we will highlight the completions dashboard but be sure to explore the Drilled and Permitted Wells, Monthly Production Search, and Production Summary Analysis dashboards that are also within this folder. The first image below shows all U.S. wells with downhole consumables on a map, then shows how many wells are included within the map, as well as a graph of proppant mass and proppant per well from wells completed in the past 12 months. We can easily see there are currently 95,830 wells in the U.S. and within the past 12 months, there was a 60% increase in proppant consumption while proppant per well increased by 70% Aug 2016 over Dec 2015. The effect the market conditions had on proppant consumption can be seen as total consumption reached a low point in Feb 2016 (Jan 2017 is expected to increase as more completions are reported). Having the ability to draw your own boundary on the map as shown in the second image allows users to pick custom regions, diving deeper into their areas of interest. For this example, we highlighted wells within the Williston Basin. After drawing the boundary, the well count and proppant activity graph automatically update to show the data for wells contained inside the shape. Within the Williston Basin, there are 8,316 wells with downhole consumables - roughly 9% of all U.S. wells seen in the first image. The trends in the Williston Basin were...
