N.C. Department of Labor: 2015 N.C. work-related deaths down slightly after major uptick in 2014

New numbers from the N.C. Department of Labor show workplace deaths are on the decline in the state. The news comes a year after a report showing fatalities in the workplace had nearly doubled during 2014. Fatalities declined from 45 that year to 41 in 2015. But it's still a big uptick from the 23 deaths reported in 2013. Wake County is the state leader, with seven fatalities. Mecklenburg, Onslow and Wayne counties followed with three deaths each.
